UCATT and M6toll Working Together

UCATT and Midland Expressway are now working together to facilitate and enhance industrial relations, promote health and safety and provide for staff representation. Through this approach we will jointly work to enhance business growth and the customer experience.

Midland Expressway Limited (MEL) has now formally recognised the Trade Union UCATT and seeks to further strengthen employee relations.

By partnering with UCATT, the Union and MEL will share common objectives so providing a better service for our customers through increased employee involvement.

Through local representatives and recognised Trade Union Safety Representatives, employees will have a framework to raise ideas and issues to improve health and safety awareness and business success.

The Recognition Agreement was signed by Mr Tom Fanning, Chief Executive of MEL and Mr Wayne Dickens, Regional Organiser of UCATT. Mr Dickens said, "This is a great step forward in industrial relations. Wherever UCATT has signed a Recognition Agreement, we have found that Health and Safety improves and industrial relations achieve a much more stable outcome".

Mr Fanning said, "We are pleased to be working hand in hand with UCATT to further the success of the M6 Toll operation and we are committed to a strong working relationship.
