Local scout group visit the M6toll

The Scout Group, run by Cub Leader Sharon Hughes along with three parent helpers meet every Monday evening at Holy Cross Community Hall and has been running for 47 years.

The pack of 16 Cubs, aged eight to ten and a half years old, were visiting the M6 Toll as part of their Local Knowledge badge.  This badge entails 'visiting a local emergency service station or equivalent and finding out how it is run'.

During their visit, the pack were shown around the control room and the maintenance depot where they were invited to explore the fleet of maintenance vehicles and find out how they work and assist the customers who use the M6toll.

Tom Fanning, Midland Expressway CEO said "I was delighted when we were approached by the Scout Group regarding this visit as it is important to all of us at Midland Expressway Ltd to work with the local community wherever possible.  I hope the boys found their trip to M6toll enjoyable and helpful and I wish them every luck with gaining their Local Knowledge badge."

Sarah Ayto, parent helper at 5th Lichfield Scout Group said "This was a fantastic opportunity for our Cubs to go 'behind the scenes' of the Toll Road. It was very interesting for the boys and adults alike and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves".
