Sponsorship for Youth Sailing @ Chasewater Summer race Series

Midland Expressway Limited (MEL) operators of the M6toll, donated £500 to the Youth Sailing & Chasewater Summer Race Series, the final race of which took placed on Saturday 18th July.

The Club introduced a new Race Series this year comprising three series; Spring, Summer and Autumn with the aim of introducing the kids to some competitive sailing. They learn valuable sailing rules, tactics and how to start a race.

Tom Fanning, MEL Chief Executive said "it's a pleasure to be able to support such a fantastic club and to see the kids having such a great time and learning new skills. It was an honour to present awards to the winning kids in the Laser and RS Feva races… who knows, one of them may be the next Olympic champion!"

The sponsorship money raised from the series will be spent on new equipment, boats and training material.

If you have a child aged between 10yrs and 16yrs who would like to learn to sail, The Royal Yachting Association (RYA) On Board are sponsoring a course at Youth Sailing at Chasewater. The course is over two days on the 12th and 13th September, followed by 6 consecutive Saturday mornings all for free, students will achieve the RYA level 1 sailing certificate.
