Supercar Drivers get together to raise funds!

Over 50 drivers gathered for the Supercar event, hosted by M6toll on Sunday, June 17.

Cars included Porsches, Ferraris, McLarens and Lamborghinis, as well as a very eye-catching Ferrari Enzo and Lamborghini Aventador.

After taking the opportunity to admire the cars on display, drivers left Roadchef Norton Canes to take part in a visually fantastic loop drive, travelling south to M6 J3 before returning to the Mway services, in time to see the real star of the show in action!

Midlands Air Ambulance were operational for the duration of the event, dramatically flying in and allowing spectators to view the helicopter up close.  The Air Ambulance was called out to attend an incident during the fundraiser emphasizing the vital service provided, on average ten times every single day.

In total £1053.40 was raised and donated to Midlands Air Ambulance by the generous Supercar members before drivers continued onwards to the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power in Cheshire.

Central Motorway Police group were also there to provide information and advice on speed awareness, reminding drivers that the M6toll is subject to normal motorway regulations.

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity receives no government or national lottery funding and relies solely on the generosity of the public to raise the £6 million pounds needed every year to ensure the three helicopters remain operational.

Thank you to Midland Expressway, Roadchef Norton Canes and the Supercar members and who supported the charity so generously!

Tom Fanning, Midland Expressway CEO said "As a business we are always willing to assist fellow organisations or clubs with fundraising events. As a charity MAA, critically needs the support of businesses and I would urge other regional business leaders to assist too."
