Little Tilly and Tolly on Track for Big Future

After a lot of fun and fundraising to reach their £10000 target, the M6toll (Midlands Expressway) has received a photo of the puppies they named Tilly and Tolly, aged six-weeks-old.

Over the next 12 months, staff at the M6toll will hear what little Tilly and Tolly have been up to as they receive a puppy birth certificate, personalised updates on their training and a final photo as they leave their puppy walkers to go to Guide Dog Training School.

They will also meet up with Tilly and Tolly in person, so they can see first hand how well they are doing and ask questions about their progress.

Tom Fanning, Midland Expressway Ltd (MEL) Chief Executive said "It was an easy choice for my Social Committee to make in deciding to donate £10,000 to Guide Dogs as part of MEL's Drive for Charity initiative.  The charity provides an invaluable service; supporting blind and partial sighted people and their families.

We were all truly delighted when we received Tolly and Tilly's photographs and birth certificate; they are both so adorable. We can't wait for them to visit us and follow their progress over the next 12 months or so."

Laura Lane Clarke from Guide Dogs, says: 'I hope the staff at the M6toll know just how much they have done to bring independence to a blind or partially sighted person. A guide dog brings confidence, mobility and companionship. Tilly and Tolly will truly change a life.' There are around 180,000 blind and partially sighted people living in the UK who find it difficult to leave home on their own. Guide Dogs wants to change that, but as we receive no government or statutory funding we rely entirely on the generosity of the public to provide a service that makes a massive difference to the lives of blind and partial sighted people.
