M6toll Staff Have Fallen for Acorns

As part of the M6toll's Drive for Charity funding, Midland Expressway Ltd (MEL); operators of the M6toll, have donated a huge £10,000 to Acorns Children's Hospice in Walsall.

Members of MEL's Social Committee visited Acorns Hospice in Walsall this week to meet with their team and gain a better understanding on the specialist care and support they provide to local children and young people who have life limiting or life threatening illnesses, and their families. MEL's £10,000 will be utilised for essential care and support, such as; 320 hours of care, bereavement care for 8 families for one year, the running and maintenance of 2 hydrotherapy pools and hydro‐spa for one year (including 28 specialist sessions), community support for 10 families for one year or the laundry provision at 2 hospices for one year.

James Hodson, Director of Motorway Operations at MEL said: "we are delighted to support Acorns and it was extremely emotional to see first‐hand the home‐from‐home environment and the individual care which the Walsall team provides."

Charlotte Anson, New Business Development Officer at Acorns Children's Hospice, said: "We are so grateful for the support of MEL and are excited about working with them over the forthcoming months. "We rely on fundraising and donations to keep our services running, so this kind of support is vital for us."
