M6toll customers to win big at ‘Freebie Friday’ event

Midland Expressway Limited (MEL), operators of the M6toll have announced today that in recognition of their 180 millionth customer they will be hosting a ‘Freebie Friday’ event on Friday 2nd October at Roadchef Norton Canes motorway services.

MEL’s Director of Motorway Operations, James Hodson said “the M6toll is now in its 11th year of operation with currently over 48,000 customers continuing to choose to use the M6toll on a daily basis rather than the congested M6. We wanted to celebrate the fact that we have reached our 180 millionth customer threshold by way of giving a little something back to our customers. The main aim of our ‘Freebie Friday’ event is to say thank you to our customers and hopefully put a smile on their faces before continuing their journey.”

On the run up to the day, the lucky 180 millionth customer will be identified by M6toll staff who will be handed an invitation to join the M6toll team at the event where he or she will be presented with an M6toll tag* entitling them to a year’s free passage on the M6toll.

On the day itself, there will be an M6toll team at Roadchef Norton Canes which is located between junctions T6 and T7 on the M6toll. Customers visiting the services on that day between 11am and 3pm could be in with a chance of winning various freebies; ranging from a voucher for free passage on the M6toll to paying for a family’s fuel bill at the BP service station.

* The tag is a small electronic device which is fitted to a driver’s windscreen and allows users to pre-pay for passage on the M6toll and pass through a dedicated lane usually without the need to stop. Tags cost a monthly lease fee of £1 per Tag and provide a 5% discount per trip.
