Tails sent wagging thanks to generosity from the m6toll!

Midland Expressway Ltd (MEL); operators of the m6toll road, kindly donate £500 towards Rosedene Animal Rescue Centre’s vet bill together with supplies for the centre.

Rosedene Animal Rescue Centre in Walsall has been running for several years and have over 30 dogs currently in their care. Their rescue centre is a non-profit organisation and relies solely on public donations. They have a great community of volunteers that undertake daily cleaning duties, walking the dogs and organising fund raising events, however, their vet bill has been increasing due to the number of dogs coming in to their care needing emergency treatment.

Mandy Deakin, Social Committee Secretary said “I discovered Rosedene online where I read how a lot of Staffordshire Bull Terriers were being ‘overlooked’ and some even spending most of their lives in the centre. As a Staffie owner myself, this upset me a great deal as I could not think of a more gentle, loyal dog so I approached our Social Committee for funding. What stood out for me the most is they will rescue a dog from a pound and literally save their lives! It was a massive eye opener to see the effort the team put in to keep the rescue centre clean, warm and well stocked. It is a great pleasure to support them”.

Kelly Hadley, Rosedene Animal Rescue Centre Manager added “We are extremely grateful to the M6toll for the donations and funds towards our vet bill. We appreciate any support given for our furry little friends!”

MEL's Social Committee will be working closely with members of staff to choose those community projects close to their hearts which will benefit from a donation from the remaining Drive for Charity fund. MEL's Social Committee is always on the lookout for local charities and community projects to support.
