M6toll scores for Walsall Ladies u13’s with £700 donation

Midland Expressway Ltd (MEL), operators on the M6toll received a visit from the Goalkeeper at Walsall Ladies U13 this week after providing sponsorship towards new kits for the whole team.

Walsall Ladies FC was founded in 2002 and is affiliated with Walsall FC, the u13’s team play in the Staffordshire girl’s league and have played 16 games this season, 10 of which they have won. The club’s need for new kits was highlighted to the MEL social committee by MEL Employee Nigel Marsh whose granddaughter Lucy is the club’s goalkeeper.

Nigel Marsh, MEL’s Tolling Services Manager said: “The team relies on parents taking the girls to training every week and to matches all around the Midlands on a Saturday morning; it is a great boost to the team to have the new kit sponsored by a local company.”

Donna Simpson, Manager of Walsall Ladies u13’s added: “On behalf of Walsall Ladies U13s I would love to say a huge thank you to Midland Expressway Ltd for sponsoring our U13s enabling us to buy new kits for the first time in 3 years.  The girls are over the moon and very pleased to have such nice new kits which wouldn’t have been possible without their generosity.”

MEL’s donation forms part of a wider initiative to support local schools and community projects. MEL's Social Committee work closely with members of staff to choose those community projects close to their hearts which will benefit from a donation from the Drive for Charity fund.

MEL's Social Committee is always on the lookout for local charities and community projects to support.
