Student Scholarships
Following the
overwhelming response from students to last year's inaugural year
of the MEL Student Scholarship, the application process
for study year 2012-2013 has now opened.
The MEL Student Scholarship is aimed to commend and award those
students who constantly reflect excellence in character, and who
have demonstrated their leadership skills by making a positive
contribution to the local community.
MEL is providing funding towards Scholarships for students from
Staffordshire and Stoke schools with sixth forms, sixth form
academies and Further Education Colleges. The Scholarships
will support students as they progress from school / college at the
age of 18/19 to further their educational studies through an
accredited degree course or equivalent in mathematics, the
sciences, technology or engineering.
The MEL / Local Authority Panel will select the 10 successful
students in September 2012 at which time MEL will contact the
successful student's schools. MEL will also write to the
successful students directly and invite them and their families to
an awards ceremony early January 2013 at which they will receive
their cheques and awards.
Students wishing to apply should complete a Part1
Student Application Form* and submit it by email to scholarship@m6toll.co.uk
by the closing date below. All Part1 Student Application
Forms must be supported by a Part2 Statement of Recommendation from
the Student's Head Teacher, Principal or Head of Sixth. Upon
receipt of the student's Part1 Student Application Form, we will
send out the Part2 Statement of Recommendation to the student's
nominated person.
The application process opens Monday 23rd January
2012
