Business Analytics Manager
Reporting to – Strategy & Business Performance Director
Full Time: 37.5 hours per week ( hybrid)

About the Opportunity.
Midland Expressway Limited are looking to recruit a Business Analytics Manager.
The role will be leading the Business Analysis team to transform data into information for the business. Working alongside the wider Strategy & Business Performance team to deliver useful insights driving strategy and understanding of the M6toll traffic and customer behaviours.
The individual will also work closely with the Continuous Improvement team to deliver data and insights to optimise processes across the business. They will also be working alongside the IT department in ensuring alignment in data management across the business and championing a self-service solution for end users of data.
Key tasks and activities are:
- Report development and rationalisation of current reporting suite.
- Collaborate with IT in implementing strong controls and governance around the BI tool and data management.
- Management of the reporting catalogue.
- Automation of manual processes where relevant.
- Pricing – Develop and maintain insights around customer behaviours to drive pricing and product strategies.
- Data enhancements – working alongside key stakeholders across the business to develop and add different data sets to increase the understanding of traffic and customers.
- Help deliver improvements in Daily, Weekly, Monthly Reporting
- Provide data to assist with ad-hoc T&R Analysis
- Work alongside the S&BP teams in report development
- Partner the Finance Project Manager in developing further robustness in the end-to-end controls (Trip 2 Cash)
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Development of business KPI dashboards
What Key Performance Indicators will be measured to evaluate success?
Performance :
- Accurate and insightful information to support key business decisions relating to MEL markets and customers, revenue/products, channels/service, or strategic initiatives.
Budgets/supplier management:
- Effective management of workstreams to time/budget/impact objectives, adopting a project-style approach to ensure performance of self, colleagues, or suppliers.
Innovation, quality & efficiencies:
- Demonstrate an ethos of continual improvement through the launch and delivery of new initiatives to improve quality, efficiencies or cost savings
- Effective supplier/budget management set against the objectives set, delivering efficiency savings or service improvements where possible
Essential skills:
- Detailed understanding of the opportunities and challenges inherent in enrichment of data/BI using 3rd party overlays or enduring integrations
- Significant experience in data analysis, including experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills with high attention to detail & accuracy
- Proficient at communicating complex issues succinctly and in an engaging way to motivate/influence others
- Business analysis to explore trends for optimisation and risk management
- . Proven track record in a similar role.
- Experience of delivering a comprehensive range of insights to support service-led growth strategies
- Experience of leading a small team, with strong people management skills.
- Experience gained in a similar role
Desirable: skills:
- Understanding of key business concepts e.g. ROI
- Market/sector experience and understanding
- Project lead, involving collaboration with/matrix management of others to secure successful delivery
- Experience of managing third party consultants and contracts
