The M6toll, are proudly supporting Dave Day, an event honouring the late ‘Hairy Biker’ Dave Myers, which will see thousands of riders from the motorcycle community ride to Dave’s hometown and raise money for charity.

On 21st June, the M6toll will be offering over 4,000 registered event participants free passage through the M6toll plazas, ensuring riders enjoy a seamless and safe journey as they travel through the Midlands towards Barrow In Furness.

Bikers will gather at the National Motorcycle Museum near the M42 for the third leg of their trip, before setting off towards Barrow-in-Furness. At the M6toll’s Great Wyrley mainline plaza, lane 1 will be coned off for safe passage, directing bikers through the wide load lane to facilitate smooth transit.

To mitigate impact on customers, all other lanes at Great Wyrley plaza will show ‘green arrow’ with all open lanes being made free of charge for the duration of the bike cavalcade, allowing customers to breeze through, minimising delay.

Dave Day has fast become one of the most anticipated charity motorcycle rides in the country. Last year, 46,000 riders came together to fundraise for NSPCC Childline and CancerCare, with this year’s event expected to make an even greater impact.

Maxine Estevez, Communications Manager at M6toll, commented: “We’re incredibly proud to support Dave Day and help riders get to Barrow safely and smoothly. It’s a fantastic cause, and we’re delighted to provide an alternative reliable route making the journey through the region easier for all involved.”

In addition to the ride, the Dave Day team, Barrow Council, Barrow BID, and North West Community Stars Football Club have put together an entire weekend of celebrations,
including a Legends vs. Bikers football match, a charity concert, and an array of fundraising activities.

Dave Day lead rider Jason ‘Woody’ Woodcock added: “The support for Dave Day by M6toll is not only extremely generous but will enhance the safety and experience of all those participating in the Day and remembering Dave and others lost to Cancer.”

Having launched its Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) tolling system last year M6toll customers can now save time and money with a breeze account.
