Approaching a toll plaza

IMG_212-2-1800x1200

How it works

It’s as easy as 1,2,3.

1. As you approach the toll plaza, the overhead gantry shows which toll lanes you can use: a red X means it’s closed, and ‘T’ stands for TAG – our dedicated express lane for account holders. If you are an account holder and you’ve given us your vehicle registration, you can use any lane, including the TAG lane. To open an account, click here.

2. Choose a lane, pull up to the barrier and tap your contactless payment card or smart device on the reader (or swipe your fuel card down the right hand side). If you need a receipt, please go online to download here. PLEASE NOTE: You can only pay by card or smart device – we don’t accept cash.

If your credit/debit card doesn’t support contactless payment, simply insert it in the slot at the bottom of the reader. You won’t need your PIN.

3. You can go as soon as the traffic light turns green.

If there’s a problem, or you’re having trouble paying, press the Assistance button to talk to us. We’re here to help get you on your way.

You’ll pass through a toll plaza when you leave the road at junctions T3 (northbound only), T4, T5 or T6; or on the main motorway between junctions T4 and T3 (southbound) and between junctions T6 and T7 (northbound). If you’re heading south and using junction T3, you’ll pass through the plaza as you join the motorway.

Perfectly located

M6toll is the reliable, stress-free, free-flowing route around Birmingham – the perfect antidote to the M6, A5 or A38, whether you’re driving long distance or heading into the heart of the Midlands. We offer quick access to Cannock, Burntwood, Walsall, Tamworth, Lichfield and Sutton Coldfield.

We’re also the  fastest route to some of the region’s most popular destinations, such as the NEC, Birmingham Airport, the Belfry, Drayton Manor, the Snowdome, McArthurGlen and Resorts World.
