M6 J2-4 Smart motorway scheme night roadworks will affect access to M6toll road from 12th March 2018.
There will be a series of night time closures (21:00-06:00) of the M6 from junctions 2-4 as part of the conversion of the M6 into an “all-lane running” smart motorway. These closures will be in place on and off over the next 2 years.
Closures will impact access to and from the M6 at the southern end of the M6toll. Access to the M42 will not be impacted.
During the M6 closures, diversionary routes will be put in place potentially adding extra time to your journey. We want to make sure you are aware of this so you can plan accordingly. The fastest of these options may still add 25 mins to your journey versus your current M6toll routing. There are two separate routes one for cars and vans and another for heavy goods vehicles.
The diversion routes are the same in both northbound and southbound directions. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by these Highways England works. If you would like further information on these scheduled roadworks please call Highways England Information Line (HAIL) on 0300 123 5000 or email them on email@example.com.
