Systems Technician (Electro Mechanical)

Full Time: 40 hours per week.

Salary Circa; 36.5k per annum

About the Opportunity

Midland Expressway Limited are looking to recruit a permanent, highly skilled & reliable, Systems Technician into their Engineering and Facilities team. The ideal candidate will have had experience of;

  • Troubleshooting
  • Providing technical support to end-users and clients as needed
  • Electro mechanical and electronic repairs
  • Maintaining, repairing and developing a diverse range of systems
  • Performing regular system updates and maintenance tasks
  • Working alone and as part of a team

As part of the role, a Systems Technician will maintain the live motorway lanes (Toll collection system) to ensure the M6toll is working to its maximum efficiencies to meet customer demand, the role includes;

  • The working elements of the tolling lanes/function, including ANPR cameras, barriers, card readers, complex wiring and general scheduled maintenance of each lane.
  • Working on Road side equipment in a safe controlled area.

Suitable candidates will be able to demonstrate hands on maintenance and fault-finding experience of electrical / automation systems. It would be beneficial if candidates have had experience of working with Windows 365.

Full training will be given, however a working knowledge of some of the following would be advantageous.

  • CCTV (Analogue & IP)
  • Electrical distribution (Generators, UPS’s)
  • Electromechanical devices (barriers, Credit / debit card machines)

The role requires you to work weekends in a shift pattern which will include Earlies, Lates and occasional Nights (not on a Rota basis), this may also include an on-call Rota.
The role is permanent, 40 hours per week, and will include working Bank Holidays.

Essential Skills

  • You must have a full driving license, as you will be expected to drive Company vehicles when on shift.
  • You must have previous demonstrable experience of electronic, electro mechanical or mechanical maintenance.

Desirable skills 

  • 18th edition electrical qualification

The role requires Criminal Records Check clearance.
