Midland Expressway Limited (MEL), operators of the M6toll, have supported Tamworth & Lichfield Sea Cadets by carrying out a clean‑up of the unit’s main yard ahead of their upcoming Royal Naval Parade and official inspection on 5th May.

Using one of its road sweepers, the M6toll team helped clear debris and refresh the outdoor space, ensuring the yard was safe, tidy and ready for inspection. The support forms part of M6toll’s ongoing commitment to supporting local community groups and youth organisations.

Tamworth & Lichfield Sea Cadets play a vital role in developing young people through nautical training, teamwork and leadership skills, providing opportunities that help build confidence and resilience. Maintaining safe and well‑presented facilities is an important part of creating a positive environment for cadets, volunteers and visiting inspectors alike.

Jo Brett, External Communications Assistant at M6toll, said: “After meeting members of the Sea Cadets team at a recent Support Staffs event we were delighted to offer our support to the Tamworth & Lichfield Sea Cadets ahead of their inspection by helping to freshen up their main yard. They provide fantastic opportunities for young people locally, and we’re proud to play a small part in supporting the important work they do in the community.”

A spokesperson for Tamworth & Lichfield Sea Cadets said: “We’re very grateful to M6toll for their support. The yard clean‑up has made a real difference and helped us prepare confidently for our inspection. It’s great to see local organisations working together to support young people.”

M6toll continues to work closely with local organisations and community groups across the region, supporting initiatives that make a meaningful difference. By offering practical support and resources, the company remains committed to helping communities thrive both on and off the road.
