Out and About with our Business Development Team
All six members of the Business Development team were out in force last week, exhibiting at two major industry events simultaneously, Multimodal at the NEC and RTX at the NAEC Stoneleigh. The team delivered a strong presence at both events with vibrant, interactive stands designed to attract visitors and showcase why having an M6toll business account is ” A Toll Lot better for business”
At Multimodal, visitors took part in our “Stop the Clock” challenge, where contestants attempted to stop the timer as close to 22 seconds as possible, representing the average 22-minute time saving an HGV driver can achieve by using the M6toll during peak periods. The competition proved hugely popular throughout the event, culminating in a fantastic finale when a visitor stopped the timer at exactly 22.000 seconds on the final day, winning a year’s free travel on the M6toll.
Meanwhile, at RTX, visitors tested their skills on our “Whack-a-Toll” game, challenging participants to bash traffic bottlenecks and achieve the highest score possible. The competition became fiercely contested and generated plenty of engagement and conversation throughout the show.
Beyond the activities, both events provided valuable opportunities to speak with fleet operators, transport professionals and industry decision-makers. We had some excellent conversations, generated a significant number of leads and have already welcomed several new customers who were keen to take advantage of the commercial benefits offered by the M6toll.
The events also provided excellent networking opportunities. Sarah and Lily attended the Multimodal Awards evening on Tuesday, while several members of the team joined the networking mixer at the DP World stand on Wednesday evening. It was great to reconnect with many familiar faces and strengthen relationships with key industry bodies and partners, including CILT, Logistics UK and the RHA.
Adding to M6toll’s presence at RTX, our General Manager, Michael Whelan, took part in a panel discussion titled “The Future Road Network: Pricing, Data and Traffic Control”, sharing insights on the future challenges and opportunities facing the UK’s road network.
Overall, both events were a great success, helping to raise awareness of M6toll, strengthen industry relationships and generate new business opportunities.
